ABOUT OUR SESSIONS
What can I expect during my first session?
During your first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and understanding your reasons for seeking therapy or career counselling. I will ask you about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through our sessions. The initial conversation helps me gather important information to tailor our work together to your specific needs.
We will also discuss any questions you have about the therapy or career counselling process, and establish a comfortable and supportive environment. For career counselling, we will begin to explore your career history, strengths, interests, and any immediate concerns.
The first session lasts 50 minutes and sets the foundation for our ongoing work together. For subsequent sessions, you have the option to book either 50-minute or 80-minute sessions based on your needs and preferences.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you will need depends on your specific situation and goals. Some clients find significant relief after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. For example, individuals dealing with more complex mental health or career concerns may require extended support. Similarly, clients who are experiencing significant life transitions, like moving away from home or adjusting to a new job, might benefit from regular check-ins.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are either 50 or 80 minutes long, based on your needs and preferences. The 50-minute sessions are great for regular check-ins and focused work, whereas the 80-minute sessions provide more time for in-depth exploration and comprehensive support. Choose the session length that best fits your schedule and the level of support you feel you need.
How often should I attend sessions?
The frequency of sessions varies based on the nature of the issue, your availability, and other considerations. Most clients start with weekly sessions to gain momentum and achieve relief more quickly. As progress is made, we can adjust the frequency to bi-weekly or monthly sessions to suit your ongoing needs and goals. We will work together to determine the most effective schedule for you.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
I only offer online sessions. This allows for greater flexibility and convenience, enabling you to receive support from the comfort of your own home or any private space. Online sessions ensure that you can easily fit therapy or career counselling into your schedule without the need to travel.
